Former governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia State, Mascot Uzor Kalu (KSJI), has congratulated Dr. Samuel Anya, widely known as Akaepuchionwa, on his recent appointment as a Commissioner in Rivers State.

Dr. Anya, an Abia-born politician from Ohafia, was sworn in as the Commissioner for Special Duties by Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Wednesday, after being screened by the Rivers State Assembly a day earlier alongside four others.

In a press statement released by his media office in Abuja on Wednesday evening, Kalu extended heartfelt felicitations to Anya, describing his appointment as well-deserved.

The former Abia Chief of Staff expressed confidence that Anya’s appointment would be a valuable addition to Governor Fubara’s cabinet and the Rivers State Executive Council.

“I received the news of Dr. Samuel Anya’s well-deserved appointment as Commissioner with excitements. His dedication and service have always been exemplary, and I have no doubt that he will bring even greater value to the people of Rivers State in this new role.”

“His appointment as Commissioner is not just a reward for his past accomplishments, but also a recognition of the positive impact he will continue to make, the statement read in parts.

Prior to this appointment, Anya served as the Coordinator of Non-Indigenes and Senior Special Adviser on Non-Indigene Matters to the Government of Rivers State.

A notable philanthropist in his hometown of Ohafia, he is also the founder of the Akaepuchionwa Movement, a grassroots political organization where he actively demonstrates his philanthropic efforts.
