Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has boasted  about his inccorruptoble nature, declaring boldly that no one can accuse him of corruption during his tenure as a public officeholder.

This statement was made on Thursday during the Michael Okpara Leadership Lecture and Award 2024, held at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

Governor Uzodimma urged public officials to live within their legitimate means and avoid engaging in corrupt activities.

He identified the inordinate pursuit of wealth and a lack of discipline as key factors contributing to the rampant corruption in Nigeria.

Channels Television reports that during his lecture, titled Service Above Others: Lessons from the Leadership Philosophy of Michael Okpara, Uzodimma emphasized the importance of political leaders emulating the late Premier of Eastern Nigeria’s legacy to foster a more prosperous nation.

He also provided an update on the ongoing rehabilitation of the Egbema power plant, assuring that the project will be completed and commissioned in the first quarter of 2025.

Uzodimma described the power plant as crucial for ensuring a consistent 24-hour electricity supply throughout the state.

The event saw the attendance of notable figures, including Cross River State Governor Prince Bassey Otu, Ebonyi State Deputy Governor Patricia Obila, former First Lady of Nigeria Patience Jonathan, and both past and serving lawmakers.
