Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has unleashed another fierce criticism against the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing the party’s current leaders of leading it to its demise.

In a statement on Sunday, Melaye expressed his dismay at the actions of the PDP’s acting National Chairman, Iliya Damagum, alongside Samuel Anyanwu and Umar Bature.

He claimed that the founding fathers of the party, including Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, and Abubakar Rimi, would be “turning in their graves” over the current state of the party.

According to Melaye, the once-mighty PDP has now become an “obituary” under the trio’s leadership.

This follows his earlier accusations, where he blamed Damagum, Anyanwu, and Bature for irreparably damaging the former ruling party by commercializing and privatizing its operations.

In a renewed attack, Melaye took to X, stating, “PDP is the only surviving party of the 4th Republic. After 27 years of surviving all shenanigans. Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, Abubakar Rimi, etc. will be turning in their graves seeing what Damagun, Ayanwu, and Bature are doing to the dream of building a national party. PDP now, Obituary.”
