Pearl Agbomadzi, a 20-year-old interior decorator, has been charged with murder following the sudden death of a British national, 74-year-old John Scott Hughes, during an encounter at a popular entertainment spot in East Legon.
According to the prosecution, Mr. Scott Hughes met Agbomadzi, who is identified as his girlfriend, on August 2, 2024, at American House before they proceeded to Philipo’s Movie House in East Legon. Mr. Scott Hughes booked a private room, where the pair watched an adult movie before reportedly engaging in a consensual intimate encounter.
During the encounter, however, Mr. Scott Hughes collapsed, prompting Agbomadzi to alert hotel reception staff, who immediately contacted emergency services. Mr. Scott Hughes was transported to Legon Hospital, where he was later declared dead by the medical team.
The situation took a legal turn when Mr. Scott Hughes’ wife filed a formal complaint, leading to Agbomadzi’s arrest and the current legal proceedings.
