Popular Nigerian evangelist and filmmaker Mike Bamiloye has cautioned against speaking ill of men of God, warning of the spiritual consequences that could follow such actions.

In a statement shared on his official X account, Bamiloye referenced biblical examples to highlight the dangers of criticizing spiritual leaders.

“Some people have carried unnecessary curses they ought not to have carried in the first place. Why? Because they had insulted some genuine men of God who carry fires meant for the devil,” he stated.

Using the story of Michal, Saul’s daughter, as an example, Bamiloye referred to 2 Samuel 6:16 and 6:23, where Michal despised King David for celebrating before God.

Despite David not cursing her, she suffered divine punishment, remaining childless until her death.

“That is how some ignorant and arrogant people are getting their fingers burnt in the fire they cannot quench,” Bamiloye explained.

“Because some men of God had disappointed you does not imply every man of God you see should now be despised and insulted. It is a very dangerous venture,” the cleric added.

He concluded his warning with message, “Some people are always looking for any excuse to despise and talk against men of God. Fear for your future!”
