Juventus are said to be targeting Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman as the summer transfer window approaches.
Lookman, currently showcasing his talents at Atalanta in Serie A, has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most prolific strikers, joining the ranks of fellow Nigerian forwards Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface who are also making waves in European football.
The 27-year-old Nigerian international has been making waves in Serie A this season, scoring ten goals and providing five assists in just seventeen matches across all competitions.
Lookman’s impressive performances have reignited interest from top clubs, particularly after Paris Saint-Germain’s unsuccessful pursuit of him last summer.
In an editorial segment on Sportitalia via bianconeranews, Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari disclosed that Juventus is gearing up for an ambitious strategy in the upcoming summer transfer window, largely influenced by the contract circumstances surrounding Dusan Vlahovic.
He revealed should Vlahovic leave, Juventus is prepared to explore several high-profile replacements, including Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
Juventus would be evaluating important names such as Osimhen, although his purchase would be very complicated given his permanence at Napoli.”
However, Lookman has emerged as an attractive, albeit complex, option for Juventus.
Longari emphasized that Atalanta is now considered a great team, making negotiations for Lookman’s transfer particularly difficult.
The ongoing success of Atalanta and the potential high asking price for Lookman could deter many clubs from pursuing him.
Nevertheless, Longari remained optimistic, stating, “If the Nigerian striker’s performances were to remain at the highest levels until the end of the season, his purchase would become even more complicated. Despite everything, it costs nothing to dream.
As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Juventus to see if they can secure the services of Lookman, who continues to shine as one of the most exciting forwards in European football.
