A two-year-old boy was discovered abandoned at a dumpsite in the Sari Iganmu area of Lagos State, prompting authorities to seek public assistance in reuniting the child with his family.
The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident in a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to Hundeyin, the child was found on Monday night by a Good Samaritan who spotted him at the dumpsite. The boy was subsequently taken to a nearby police station for safety.
In his post, Hundeyin appealed to the public for help in identifying the boy’s family.
The discovery has sparked concern among residents and social media users, many of whom have called for increased awareness and community vigilance to prevent such incidents.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the boy’s family to come forward and contact the Lagos State Police Command.
