Mrs Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin has been removed as the Commissioner of Police in Edo State and Mr. Monday Agbonika has been appointed as replacement.
Otimenyin was appointed as the 49th CP of the State on January 16, 2025. She took over from CP Peter Umoru Ozigi at his retirement on January 25, 2025.
The new CP Agbonika was until his deployment to Edo State, the Commissioner of Police (Mounted Troop), Force Equitation Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
He has been charged to be proactive and to settle down quickly so as to reduce the crime rate in Edo State. The new CP was also advised to look into the issues surrounding the recent killings in the state.
