The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden and tragic deaths of fast-rising Nollywood actor Evans and Director of Photography, Nnunu.
Their untimely demise was confirmed on Friday by veteran filmmaker Stanley Ontop, who took to Instagram to break the heartbreaking news. According to his post, both victims reportedly died shortly after consuming drinks allegedly provided by a movie director as a gesture of appreciation after a film shoot.
Stanley revealed that the drinks were shared among crew members after wrapping up a production. However, several hours later, Evans and Nnunu began experiencing intense stomach pains. Their colleagues initially believed it was a minor health issue until the situation worsened.
The two were rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts by medical personnel, they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Security operatives have since launched an investigation into the incident, with suspicions of possible poisoning as the cause of death. No official statement has been issued by the police at the time of this report.
