Three suspects have been taken into custody by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command in connection with the assault on the Boys Brigade camp in Zhayidna Village, Orozo.
According to reports, one of the campers, Johnson John, was killed in the assault.
Stanley Ukweze, Dauda Yohana, and Gemu Adamu, all of whom reside in Wasa Village in Karshi, are the suspects who have been arrested.
The three suspects thought to be involved in the incident were captured by officers acting on reliable information and digital tracking of the deceased’s cell phones, according to a statement released on Thursday by Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh. According to Adeh, two of the three cell phones that were found on the suspects during the arrest were verified to be those of the deceased.
According to her, the suspects are presently being held by the police and will face charges in court after the investigations are finished.
In its ongoing investigation into the tragic attack on the Boys Brigade camping site in Zhayidna Village, Orozo, which tragically claimed the life of one of the campers, Johnson John, the FCT Police Command has made a significant breakthrough, according to the statement.
The Divisional Police Officer Karshi, CSP Mbang Usang, led a team of police officers who followed and detained three suspects in connection with the incident after acting on reliable intelligence and digital tracking done on the deceased’s cell phones.
Residents of Wasa Village, Karshi, Stanley Ukweze, Dauda Yohana, and Gemu Adamu are among the suspects detained.
“At the time of arrest, three mobile phones were recovered from the suspects, two of which have been confirmed to belong to the deceased. The suspects are in custody and will be charged in court after investigation.”
