Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has showered praise on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that Nigeria would match the United States if it had produced two leaders with Tinubu’s qualities.
Speaking on Wednesday at a campaign rally in Esan Central for the forthcoming Edo Central by-election, Okpebholo lauded Tinubu’s leadership style and economic reforms, describing them as transformative.
“The president we have today, if Nigeria had had two of such presidents, Nigeria would’ve been like America,” the governor told supporters.
He credited Tinubu with stabilising the nation’s economy through tax reforms, citing the recently signed tax reform bills as evidence of progress.
Pledging total support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, Okpebholo vowed to mobilise massive voter turnout from Edo State.
“I, your son, have promised Mr. President 2.5 million votes. 2.5 million votes, I promised that by the grace of God, come 2027, we’re going to deliver that vote to Mr. President.”
