The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has seriously warned that it will sanction any member who acts against its constitution, following remarks by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over the party’s forthcoming national convention.

Wike, during a television interview on Tuesday, said he was unaware of any elective convention, stressing that he and his allies would resist any attempt at “injustice.”

He further questioned why no official NEC notice had been served to him, vowing to challenge the process if necessary.

In response, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, dismissed Wike’s claims, insisting that the NEC meeting was properly convened, notices were duly issued, and INEC had been formally notified.

Ologunagba confirmed that the party’s elective convention is scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025, with preparations already in top gear.

Reaffirming the party’s zero tolerance for disloyalty, he stated: “A party is voluntary – there is free entry and exit. But anyone who remains must abide by the rules.”
