Nollywood star-turned-politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has boldly predicted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will sweep the 2027 general elections and take power from President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, Okonkwo dismissed doubts about the ADC’s political strength, insisting the party is prepared to shock Nigerians.

“We stand a chance in every election in Nigeria,” he declared.

His remarks come despite the ADC’s poor showing in the August 16 by-elections, where it failed to win a single seat across 16 constituencies.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 12 seats across nine states, leaving the ADC empty-handed.

Okonkwo, however, maintained that those results should not define the party’s future. According to him, the real test will be in 2027 under the leadership of David Bach.

“But I wouldn’t say the same thing for any election for which the primaries have been conducted before the coming into existence of David Bach’s leadership. Because we are not part of the people who decided that. That’s why I’m saying the true test of ADC will be in 2027,” he said.

“We are going to form the next government in Nigeria. And send Tinubu to Bourdillon,” Okonkwo added.

On the ADC’s structure, he assured that the party is now firmly rooted across all 36 states of the federation and named former Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi, as the obvious head of the party in Rivers State.
