A faction of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on Tuesday charged the court to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from recognizing the David Mark-led leadership.
It urged the court to recognize the factional acting National Chairman, Nafiu Bala leadership structure.
Bala’s Special Adviser on Strategic Communication, Abimiku Monday, made the call during an interview on Arise Television.
He said: “The matter is up for hearing on the 30th of September On the 30th of On the 30th of September,
”We want the court to restrain INEC from recognising the David Mark-led faction. We want the court to recognise the Nafiu Bala-led leadership structure.”
Asked if he accepts INEC recognizes Mark-led leadership, he said: “I won’t say yes 100%.”
H added: “If you’ve been following the trend of the ADC for a while, you will agree with me that this whole imbroglio started in July when a group of persons, or let me say, politicians from another party decided to drop in and hijack the structure of the parry.
In Nigeria, there are processes of joining a political party, you don’t just join from the top, you join from the Ward.”
