Israel has issued a warning to the Lebanese Armed Forces, urging them to take action against Hezbollah or face intensified Israeli military operations along the border.

Israeli defense officials said the message was delivered through diplomatic and military channels over the weekend, following a series of cross-border exchanges that have heightened tensions between the two neighbors. The warning signals growing frustration in Jerusalem over what it views as the Lebanese Army’s failure to curb Hezbollah’s operations in southern Lebanon.

“The Lebanese government and army must take responsibility for what happens on their soil,” an Israeli military spokesperson said, stressing that continued inaction would result in broader and more forceful Israeli strikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.

The warning follows weeks of escalating clashes, including rocket launches and drone incursions from Lebanese territory, which Israel attributes to Hezbollah. The militant group has claimed its actions are in solidarity with Palestinians amid ongoing regional unrest.

Lebanese officials have not publicly responded to the ultimatum, though military sources in Beirut said they were monitoring developments closely to prevent a wider conflict. Regional observers fear that without restraint from both sides, the situation could spiral into sustained hostilities similar to the 2006 war.
