Niger Police Force has arrested ten suspects in connection with, armed robbery, thuggery, possession of dangerous weapons, cattle rustling from various parts of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun in a statement said the suspects were arrested during separate operations conducted by police surveillance teams and operatives attached to Tudun-Wada Division and Central Police Division, Minna.
He explained that two suspects, Habibu Isyaku, 20 years, and Musa Yakubu, 18 years, were intercepted by police on a motorcycle around Western Bye-Pass on November 17, 2025.
According to him, a locally made gun was recovered from them, and they were unable to provide a satisfactory account of themselves.
The suspects have been charged to court with criminal conspiracy, thuggery, and being in possession of dangerous weapons and illicit substances.
Abiodun also stated that in another development, five suspects were arrested in a sting operation in some identified black spots around Sayako, Tudun-Natsira, Abdul Salam Qtrs, and Baida on November 14, 2025.
The suspects include, Abdullahi Sani, 27years, Mohammed Inuwa, 21years, Abbas Yahaya, 25 years, Abdulrahman Ismail, 29 years, and Mohammed Abubakar, 28 years, were arrested with suspected cannabis, a sharp knife, a long saw blade, and illicit substances.
The PRO further disclosed that three suspects were arrested for receiving and selling suspected rustled/stolen cattle.
They include, Naziru Mustapha, 25 years, Husseini Abubakar, 30years, and Kabiru Magaji, 40years, were arrested in connection with the theft of cows in Ibeto area of Magama LGA.
Eight cows were recovered from them, and efforts are ongoing to arrest two other suspects, Bashar Sani and Ibrahim Tasiu, who are currently at large”
” The police are continuing their investigation to identify other receivers and recover other rustled cattle, ” he added.
