The United Kingdom has outrightly rejected the federal government’s plea to transfer former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu back to Nigeria to complete his prison sentence.
Ekweremadu, jailed in the UK for organ trafficking, is currently serving a nine-year, eight-month term after his 2023 conviction for conspiring to harvest a young man’s kidney.
British authorities have now drawn a firm line, insisting the embattled politician will remain behind bars in the UK, not Nigeria.
