Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, has confirmed that Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the EFCC, has formally invited him, adding that he will honour the summons in line with his commitment to accountability and transparency in public service.
Malami confirmed the invitation in a public statement, noting that he has received a formal request from the EFCC and describing himself as a law-abiding and patriotic citizen who is ready to appear before investigators as required. He stressed that he has always advocated the values of accountability and transparency in governance and that cooperating with the anti-corruption process aligns with those principles.
Reaffirming this stance, Malami said he remains rooted in public service and intends to keep Nigerians informed about developments around the EFCC’s inquiry as events unfold. His response comes as public attention grows over ongoing anti-corruption efforts and the scrutiny of actions taken during his tenure as the country’s chief law officer.
