President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today depart Abuja on a multi-state visit that will take him to Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos States for a series of official and private engagements, according to a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In Borno State, the President is expected to commission key infrastructural projects executed by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum in collaboration with the Federal Government. During his stay in Maiduguri, he will also attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, to Hadiza Kam Salem.
From Borno, President Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi State, where he will pay a condolence visit to the government and family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, the revered leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood who passed away on November 27, 2025. The visit underscores the President’s long-standing respect for the late cleric and his significant contributions to Islamic scholarship and national unity.
Following his northern engagements, the President will return to Lagos to spend the end-of-year holidays. While in the state, he will serve as Guest of Honour at the historic Eyo Festival scheduled for December 27, 2025, at Tafawa Balewa Square. This year’s festival will pay tribute to notable figures including President Tinubu’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Sir Michael Otedola.
The multi-leg visit reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to national unity, cultural preservation, and continued partnership with state governments across the federation.
