The staff of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), on Monday, shut down the head office of the service in Abuja in protest against the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Odoyemi was refused entry into the head office by angry staff of NIPOST, who locked the gate.

Recall that President Tinubu, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ajuri Ngelale, announced last week Odoyemi’s appointment as the new CEO of NIPOST, which was part of the changes the president made in the Ministry of Digital Communication.

However, in a dramatic twist of events, moments after the news of Odeyemi’s appointment broke, there were reports that Adeyemi Adepoju, the sacked Postmaster-General, had been reinstated.
