Socialite and nightlife king Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has aroused fresh controversy over Davido’s latest Grammy loss, alleging that powerful Western music interests are deliberately frustrating the Afrobeats superstar.
Davido lost the Best African Music Performance award to South African singer Tyla at the 2026 Grammy Awards held on Sunday, extending his streak of nominations without a win.
Reacting angrily on Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest claimed the Grammy snub was not about music quality but a calculated attempt to break Davido’s spirit and force him to compromise his personal beliefs.
In a strongly worded post, he urged the singer to remain firm, ignore the setback, and continue dropping hit songs for his fans worldwide.
He wrote, “Oyibo dey do everything possible to break a strong man so he can do their demonic sh*t with them but he will never do ot. Heads up brother, open the bag and drop another hot one for us. E no dey finish, gbedu na water.”
