The Taraba State Government has issued a shocking ultimatum to street sweepers to either get an APC membership card or lose their jobs
Hon. Illiya Kefas, Chairman of the state’s Environmental and Sanitation Agency, made the threat clear while speaking to journalists in Jalingo.
“Yes, anyone who refuses to do the APC registration will not only face payment sanctions but sack. I will sack anyone without an APC membership card,” Kefas warned.
The street sweepers had earlier cried foul, accusing the government of forcing them to register for APC or face punishment, a claim now confirmed by Kefas himself.
The development has raised fresh questions over alleged political coercion and the politicisation of public service employment in the state.
