I don’t like when we don’t speak to facts.

I made a post yesterday that whoever wants to run against OUK should be bold enough to confront him and not set our women and men up against each other. That’s bad politics.

Some friends called me and told me that enough is enough of OUK. I agree, but we must follow democratic process.

I watched those women singing death songs against OUK . It’s not funny. Many of them there were told lies.

I will narrate the issues that led to whatever OUK said and did not say.

OUK never declared Ohafia an IPOB zone on national television.

I have been at the forefront of campaign against OUK third term but I won’t crucify him to achieve that.

In 2023 elections, we waited for materials at Ohafia and observed there was a delay. According to INEC at the zone, the delay was as a result of reprinting of materials to include some names that were hitherto removed by the court. It’s also possible OUK had a hand but I can say that OUK had many people on ground there that were also ready for the materials. Many of those that contested also deployed several strategies to win.

Elections didn’t hold that day in major parts of Isiama ward. It was postponed till the following day. We were ready for the materials the following day but was told clearance must come from INEC national notifying that elections didn’t hold in major parts of Isiama ward.

I was a deputy Chairman of Ohafia Local Government then and therefore followed the process keenly.

Note that the issue didn’t affect Ohafia entirely. Abiriba, Nkporo and many wards in Ohafia voted including Ebem where Hon. Ibe Okwara got his votes to win against Uchendu that was disenfranchised.

OUK and Hon.Ibe Okwara were later announced victorious that evening amidst protest from some of us that didn’t cast our votes.

At the tribunal , all the parties including Ibe agreed that election didn’t hold in major parts of Isiama. At the tribunal, Ibe and OUK needed a reason not to go back to the polls. His lawyer said that Isiama as at the day of election experienced IPOB activities. His defence team brought records of altercation with IPOB at Amangwu and few other places. INEC agreed with that presentation. I read that defence and many others. That was in 2023.

Now, this is my issue with the whole thing, In 2026, someone woke up, mobilized some youths and declared OUK persona non- grata..That he (OUK) should not enter Ohafia again having called Ohafia an IPOB enclave in 2023 tribunal. That’s madness. Those guys didn’t confront OUK in 2023, not in 2024. They have been receiving OUK in Ohafia since and attacking some of us that criticized him. I have several articles against OUK in 2025 that were attacked by some of those guys we see on the street today.

The letter asking OUK not to come to Ohafia again was read on radio stations and interviews granted. It got serious that OUK wrote to security agencies after many traditional rulers distanced themselves from that publication against him. OUK said that he has been threatened to be manhandled whenever he steps his foot in Ohafia. Police invited the people , acting on the petition. Then women and other youths were eventually mobilized to join the line.

Tell us, how did we leave OUK who has been coming to Ohafia since 2023 only to wake up and remember what was said at the tribunal in 2026?
