The Inspector-General of Police has approved the appointment of a new Force Public Relations Officer.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Anthony Okon Placid has been named the new spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, replacing Benjamin Hundeyin.
Hundeyin, who served as the Force spokesman since last year, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Sunday.
“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM has approved the appointment of DCP Anthony Okon Placid, psc(+), mni as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO),” outgoing Force spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement on Sunday.
Placid is expected to take over the responsibilities of managing the public communications and media relations of the Nigeria Police Force.
