Afrobeat artiste Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, recently disclosed that she received a diagnosis of a severe throat infection in July.

She shared this personal revelation on her verified Instagram page, @tenientertainer, alongside a video documenting her journey.

Teni explained that she had been experiencing recurring episodes of voice loss, leading medical professionals to recommend a major operation to prevent potential irreversible damage to her voice.

In September, she had to be hospitalized due to repeated instances of exhaustion.

Despite the health challenges, Teni is currently undergoing treatment without the need for surgery.

She took the opportunity to reassure her fans about the sincere and emotional nature of her upcoming album, ‘Tears Of The Sun,’ scheduled for release on the 17th of this month, highlighting the song ‘Malaika’ as a reflection of her gratitude to God.

In the video caption, Teni wrote, “TESTIMONY TIME. WHEN YOU FINALLY GET TO HEAR THIS ALBUM, I WANT YOU TO LISTEN FROM YOUR HEART, EMBRACE IT WITH YOUR SOUL, AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW, I GAVE IT MY ALL, AND SPOKE MY TRUTH, STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART, AGAINST ALL ODDS. TEARS OF THE SUN.”
