Nigerian TikTok personality Jarvis has clarified that her husband, fellow content creator Peller, is not financially responsible for her extended family, stressing that his primary obligations are to her and their baby.
Her comments follow a heated online exchange between the couple over Peller’s involvement in the life of Jarvis’ sister, which sparked discussions about family responsibilities and financial boundaries in marriage.
Speaking on the issue, Jarvis explained that she takes responsibility for supporting her family and does not expect her husband to assume that burden.
“I take care of my family. I just want that to be clear. My husband is not responsible for my family,” she said.
She added that marriage has changed her priorities, noting that she now considers her husband and baby her immediate family and remains focused on fulfilling her responsibilities to them.
According to Jarvis, she prefers to maintain clear boundaries between her extended family and her husband, although she allows ordinary family interactions, including greetings and occasional communication.
She also clarified reports surrounding the purchase of a phone for her sister, explaining that she had asked Peller to help purchase the device because she was outside Nigeria and had previously promised her sister one.
Jarvis maintained that Peller’s assistance in obtaining the phone should not be interpreted as an obligation to provide financially for her family.
The clarification has brought renewed attention to discussions about financial expectations, family boundaries and shared responsibilities among married couples.
