The Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, has paid tribute to fallen heroes of the Armed Forces as Christians across the country celebrate Easter.
In his Easter message posted on the Defence Headquarters’ X handle on Sunday, the CDS described the season as one of deep spiritual significance, noting that it reflects values central to the military profession.
“Easter is a sacred season that symbolizes sacrifice, courage, hope, and the triumph of good over evil—values that resonate deeply with the calling and responsibilities of the military profession,” he said.
He stressed that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ serve as a powerful example of selfless service and leadership.
