US President Donald Trump has issued a dramatic warning to Iran, threatening severe consequences if its leadership fails to reach an agreement with the United States before a set deadline.

Over the weekend, Trump said Iran had until Tuesday at 8pm ET (1 am WAT) to make a deal, insisting that urgent action was needed to avert what he described as catastrophic outcomes.

The US president has demanded that Iran fully opens the Strait of Hormuz to shipping traffic or risk facing “hell”.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump warned of dire consequences if no agreement is reached.

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” he said in a Truth Social post hours ahead of the deadline.

“However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?

“We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end.”

On Monday, Trump escalated tensions further by threatening to target Iran’s critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if Tehran failed to comply.

Reports indicate that multiple strikes have already hit bridges and railway lines across Iran following the warning.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), a strike in Kashan city killed two people and injured three others.

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) warned Iranian citizens to avoid trains and railway infrastructure for at least 12 hours, signaling heightened security risks.

The United States has also reportedly struck Iran’s strategic Kharg Island, a key hub through which most of the country’s oil exports are processed.

Meanwhile, IRNA reports that Iran has rejected calls for a ceasefire, emphasizing the need for a permanent resolution to the ongoing conflict rather than a temporary halt in hostilities.

The situation continues to evolve rapidly as the deadline approaches, with global attention fixed on whether diplomatic efforts will prevail or further escalation will follow.
