Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, is urging voters to reject APC candidates in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa ahead of the November 11 governorship election.
In a Wednesday video clip, the former vice president labeled the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress in these states as stooges controlled by certain godfathers.
The former Vice President dismissed the dissatisfaction with INEC’s alleged transparency issues in the last general elections, emphasizing the need for citizens in the three states to turn out in large numbers on election day to achieve the objective of defeating anti-democratic elements.
In his words, “I am appealing to the good people of Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states to come out in large numbers this Saturday to vote for the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in those respective elections.”
Highlighting Governor Duoye Diri’s leadership in Bayelsa, Senator Dino Melaye’s development capacity in Kogi, and Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu’s grassroots commitment in Imo, Atiku endorsed their candidacies.
He contrasted the PDP’s visionary leaders with the APC’s candidates in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo, portraying them as puppets controlled by godfathers within or outside of those states.
