AS Roma have confirmed that Claudio Ranieri has left his role as Senior Advisor, bringing an end to his latest chapter with the club as the hierarchy throws its full support behind coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
In an official communication, the club announced that its relationship with Ranieri has concluded, formally closing the door on the former coach’s advisory stint in Rome. Ranieri had been working closely with the American ownership since the start of the season, but recent tension and a power struggle with Gasperini accelerated his departure.
“The story is now over,” the club signalled, as it thanked Ranieri for his contribution during a difficult period and acknowledged his role in stabilising the team. His exit is expected to be followed by further internal changes, with figures aligned to him, including sporting director Massara, also set to move on.
Roma made clear that the future will be built around Gasperini, stressing their faith in his leadership and long-term vision for the Giallorossi. “We believe in our project to be led by Gian Piero Gasperini,” the club stated, underlining that Roma “comes first” as they pursue growth, improvement, and results worthy of their history.
