Chisom Godswill Anyim, son of former Senate President, Pius Anyim, has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
The young politician is set to represent Ivo State Constituency in the 2027 general elections following a decisive endorsement by party stakeholders.
The adoption was sealed during a high-stakes stakeholders’ meeting held in Isiaka, headquarters of Ivo Local Government Area, and presided over by council chairman, Emmanuel Ajah.
According to Ajah, the move was a unanimous decision aimed at backing a homegrown candidate with strong grassroots appeal.
“Yes, it is true. The whole of Ivo unanimously adopted Chisom Anyim as the consensus candidate of APC for Ivo State Constituency for next year’s general election.
“The whole Ivo people gathered and informed Senator Anyim Pius Anyim that his son will be flying our party’s ticket for the 2027 general election,” he said.
In a dramatic twist, all other aspirants reportedly stepped down, clearing the path for Chisom Anyim’s emergence without contest.
The development signals a major political shift in the constituency, as he is now poised to succeed the current lawmaker, Onyebuchi Ogbadu, who previously served as Ivo LGA chairman between 2020 and 2023.
With the APC rallying behind a single candidate, the stage is now set for a fierce contest in 2027, as political alignments continue to take shape across Ebonyi State.
