Al Ittihad head coach Sérgio Conceição is preparing to part ways with the club by mutual agreement, with the Portuguese manager now in discussions over the final details of his contract before making himself available for offers from European teams.

According to club sources, Conceição and Al Ittihad have agreed in principle to terminate his deal amicably, with talks ongoing to finalise the remaining contractual and financial clauses. The decision comes after a mixed spell for the Portuguese coach, during which the club’s ambitious project faced mounting pressure amid inconsistent results and growing scrutiny over the team’s performances.

Once the separation is formally completed, Conceição is expected to be free to consider new opportunities, with his camp already understood to be open to proposals from European clubs. The former Porto boss remains a highly regarded figure on the continent, known for his intense, aggressive style of play and strong dressing-room personality, making him an attractive option for teams seeking an experienced, high-energy coach.

Al Ittihad, meanwhile, will now begin the search for a new manager to lead the next phase of their project, as the club looks to stabilise and reassert itself domestically and in continental competition. The impending exit marks another significant coaching change in the Saudi Pro League, where high-profile appointments and departures have become increasingly frequent in recent seasons.
