Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, days after they were abducted.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school.
In a major breakthrough, police operatives tracked the kidnappers and launched a rescue operation that led to a fierce gun duel with the criminal gang.
During the exchange of fire, two suspected kidnappers were neutralised, while two firearms were recovered from the suspects.
Police sources disclosed that sustained intelligence gathering, strategic tracking and mounting tactical pressure on the abductors forced them into a confrontation with security operatives, ultimately leading to the successful rescue of the victims.
The operation ended with Mrs. John-Paul and her twin sons regaining their freedom unharmed, bringing relief to their family and well-wishers.
Security agencies have intensified efforts to track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate and ensure they are brought to justice.
