The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has said a recent Federal High Court judgment ordering the deregistration of the Accord Party could have significant implications for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
In a statement, the APC said that unless the judgment is overturned on appeal, Adeleke’s eligibility to contest under the Accord Party platform may be affected.
The party also pointed to ongoing legal disputes over the leadership of the Accord Party, arguing that the unresolved cases could create further challenges for the governor’s candidacy.
While urging residents to remain peaceful and committed to democratic principles, the APC maintained that the unfolding legal developments could reshape the political landscape ahead of the governorship election.
The party further criticised the Adeleke administration over its handling of governance and public resources, while calling for accountability on several issues.
As of the time of filing this report, Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party had not officially responded to the APC’s latest claims.
