The Anambra State Police Command has launched investigations into two separate tragic incidents involving the death of a female student in Onitsha and the recovery of twin infants’ bodies in Ogbaru Local Government Area.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, expressed concern over what he described as growing social and moral challenges affecting young people and communities across the state.

According to the Police Command, a 25-year-old female student was found dead in Onitsha. A note believed to have been written by the deceased was recovered at the scene, while investigators continue efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Commissioner stressed the need for stronger parental guidance, emotional support, and mentorship for youths, urging families, schools, religious bodies, and community leaders to work together in promoting positive values and responsible living.

In a separate development, police operatives recovered the bodies of twin infants from a drainage channel in Okpoko, Ogbaru LGA. Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the infants’ biological parents, who are currently assisting detectives with ongoing inquiries.

CP Orutugu has directed that both cases be thoroughly investigated, assuring residents that the Command remains committed to protecting lives, upholding justice, and addressing emerging social concerns across the state.
