A pro-Tinubu political group, Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN), has stepped up its mobilisation efforts in the Southeast with the installation of former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, as National Grand Patron and veteran Imo politician, Chief Longers Anyanwu, as Ambassador.

The appointments were announced during an installation ceremony aimed at strengthening support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

RHGN said Senator Anyim’s vast political experience and influence across the Southeast will bolster its outreach, while Chief Longers Anyanwu will spearhead grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement, and community-based advocacy across the region.

Speaking at the event, RHGN National Convener, Hon. Calistus Anyanwu, revealed that the organisation has already established structures across the five Southeast states and is expanding its presence through ward-level executives, community associations, and youth groups.

According to him, the group’s mission is to ensure the Southeast plays an active role in the nation’s development agenda while promoting the achievements and policies of the Tinubu administration.

Political observers believe the involvement of respected figures such as Senator Anyim could strengthen the APC’s efforts to broaden its appeal in the Southeast, a region that has largely remained outside the party’s traditional support base.

RHGN also announced plans to commence town hall meetings and policy sensitisation campaigns across the region, highlighting federal initiatives, infrastructure projects, and student support programmes in the coming months.
