Troops of Operation UDOKA under the 145 Battalion have arrested two suspects and recovered a locally fabricated pistol during a swift intervention in Amaoba-Ime Community, Ikwuano LGA of Abia State.

The operation followed a distress call from the community vigilante leadership on June 22, 2026, prompting soldiers to move into the area for immediate response.
Preliminary findings show that a 20-year-old resident, John Nndoze, allegedly discovered the weapon hidden inside a polythene bag given to him by one Moses Uchenna Aleka. He reportedly alerted security operatives after the discovery.
However, the situation escalated when Moses Aleka, his brother Emmanuel Uchenna, and other associates allegedly assaulted the young man for reporting the matter, leaving him with multiple injuries.
Troops later intervened, taking Emmanuel Uchenna and John Nndoze into custody for questioning, while the recovered pistol was secured. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals linked to the incident.
The Nigerian Army’s 14 Brigade reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations aimed at curbing criminal activity and enhancing security across Abia State.
