Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku says the commission has a stance against corruption in the system.

Dr. Ogbuku who was represented by Executive Director Finance and Administration EDFA, Alabo Boma Iyaye, made the assertion during the inauguration of Anti-corruption and Transparency Unit, ACTU, at NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt, enjoined them to police the staff to ensure that corrupt practices were eliminated from the Interventionist Agency.

The MD gave assurance that the unit members would work to promote the image of commission by their actions.

“Make sure that our image is always positive, and the only way you can achieve that is to ensure that corruption is to ensure that corruption is far away from the commission. It is a difficult task but you have to help as a unit of the ICPC, help to prevent corruption.”

Similarly, Chairman Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Dr. Musa Aliyu who was represented by the Anti-Corruption Commissioner Rivers and Bayelsa States, Mrs. Ekere Usiere, asked the New leaders to work towards accountability and transparency in the commission.

“To all members of staff of this Commission, I want you to take the inauguration of this unit as a turning point and impetus to do the right thing that will take the commission forward.
Work closely with management and staff to entrench the culture of discipline and accountability ”

While handing over to the new executive, former Chairman ACTU and Director Legal Services NDDC, Victor Arenyeka who said it was worthwhile working to entrench ethical values in the system, noted that integrity was required to build trust.

The immediate past Chairman
challenged the New Executive to show good examples through their actions and character.

He reminded them that their activities would reflect on the conduct of staff.

In her acceptance speech, The Newly inaugurated Chairman, Deinma Ebong promised to engage the staff to facilitate prevention of corrupt practices.
