The Abia State University has inaugurated a five-member Search Committee to commence the process of appointing its substantive ninth Vice-Chancellor.
The committee was inaugurated by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Agwu U. Agwu, in line with the provisions of the university’s governing law.
The search team is chaired by Professor Onwubiko Dike and comprises Professors Mary Oluchi Iwuagwu, Sam Agu, Anthony Obike and Dr. Osita Igbe, while Dr. Uche Kalu Uduka serves as secretary.
The move comes nearly two years after Professor Ndukwe Okeudo assumed office as Acting Vice-Chancellor following the termination of the appointment of the former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Maxwell Ogbulu.
The committee is expected to identify and recommend qualified candidates for the university’s substantive Vice-Chancellor position after applications were recently advertised nationwide.
