The Ebonyi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has declared its determination to unseat the ruling APC in the 2027 general elections, reaffirming support for its governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii.
The declaration was made during the inauguration of the Umuekumenyi Leadership Council Union’s Local Government and Ward Delegate Council in Abakaliki, where party leaders charged delegates to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the state.
Speaking at the event, the union’s spokesperson, Emma Nwobo, urged delegates to educate voters, strengthen ward structures and promote peaceful participation in the electoral process, insisting that the group remains committed to delivering a new era of governance in Ebonyi.
National Chairman of the union, Christopher Ngwuta, called on members to return to their communities and mobilise support for the PDP, expressing confidence that the will of the people would prevail in 2027.
Other party leaders, including PDP Ebonyi North Senatorial candidate Sunday Andrew Opoke and the state Woman Leader, Chinyere Nwele, urged delegates to sustain peaceful, issue-based campaigns while ensuring active participation of women and youths in the mobilisation drive.
The PDP maintained that its strengthened grassroots structure would position the party for victory in the 2027 elections.
