The Anambra State Government has commenced the standardisation of official government email addresses across its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of efforts to strengthen digital governance, enhance cybersecurity and improve public service delivery.

The initiative will ensure that all official government correspondence is conducted through the secure @anambrastate.gov.ng email domain, creating a unified communication platform for government institutions.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Agbata, disclosed the development through the Agency’s Communications and Media Lead, Angela Nwanodu.

According to the agency, the initiative aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s digital transformation agenda and is aimed at improving data protection, promoting professionalism and increasing accountability across the public service.

Agbata explained that the adoption of a standardised government email system would minimise the risks associated with the use of personal email accounts for official communication while strengthening the state’s information management framework.

He described the initiative as a critical step toward building a modern, efficient and digitally connected public service capable of delivering transparent and credible government services.

The ICT Agency also announced that public servants across the state’s MDAs will undergo capacity-building programmes to ensure a seamless transition to the new email system.

The agency noted that the initiative forms part of the Soludo administration’s broader strategy to leverage technology to improve governance, enhance service delivery and position Anambra as one of Nigeria’s leading digitally enabled states.
