The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State Branch, has elected a new executive committee to steer the affairs of the association for the next tenure.

The election took place during the Association’s 2026 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference, with Dr. Ndubuisi Edwin Arua elected as Chairman, while Professor Osita Umeononihu emerged as Vice Chairman.

Other elected officers include Dr. Golibe Christian Ikpeze as Secretary, Dr. Uzoma Chidi Okereke as Financial Secretary, Dr. Augustine Chinagorom Anugoh as Welfare Officer, and Dr. Faith Kenechi Nnaji as Assistant Secretary.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elected executive, Chairman Dr. Ndubuisi Arua expressed appreciation to members for the confidence reposed in the team and pledged to build on the achievements of the outgoing leadership.

He assured members that the new executive would prioritise the welfare of doctors, uphold professional standards, strengthen the association and deepen collaboration with relevant stakeholders to advance healthcare delivery in Anambra State.

Dr. Arua also commended members for their active participation in the electoral process, describing it as a demonstration of the association’s commitment to democracy, unity and professional excellence.

He further appreciated the Electoral Committee, contestants, observers and all members who participated in the election, reaffirming the new leadership’s commitment to serving the interests of medical practitioners and promoting a stronger Nigeria Medical Association in Anambra State.
