The U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed the identity of a fourth American soldier believed to have died following an attack linked to Iran on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
The fallen soldier has been identified as Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, from Ozone Park, New York. According to the Pentagon, he is believed to have lost his life during the attack on 17 July 2026.
Sgt. Rampersad had initially been listed as missing by U.S. Central Command after the incident. Military authorities have now changed his status to Duty Status–Whereabouts Unknown, stating that he is presumed dead while investigations continue.
The confirmation raises the number of U.S. service members believed to have been killed in the attack to four. Pentagon officials said efforts to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.
