The Enugu State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, calling for stronger partnerships to drive investment, industrialisation and job creation across Nigeria.
Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ossai, made the call while declaring open the technical session of the 17th National Council on Industry, Trade and Investment held in Enugu.
The council brought together policymakers, industry leaders, investors and development partners to discuss practical strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s industrial, trade and investment sectors.
Ossai said Enugu State remains open for business and is focused on implementing policies that promote industrial growth, attract investors and support sustainable economic development.
Also speaking, President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Engr. Jani Ibrahim, urged governments and stakeholders to move beyond policy discussions by implementing recommendations from previous council meetings to achieve measurable economic results.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, alongside the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, John Enoh, called for greater collaboration in building a more competitive industrial sector capable of driving innovation, increasing productivity and sustaining long-term economic growth.
Participants stressed the importance of stronger partnerships among government, the private sector and development partners, noting that effective policy implementation is key to attracting investment, expanding industrial capacity and creating employment opportunities.
The council concluded with stakeholders expressing optimism that resolutions reached during the meeting would translate into concrete actions that will strengthen Nigeria’s industrial base, improve competitiveness and accelerate inclusive economic growth.
