Amid growing concern for the health of two veteran actors, John Okafor, famously known as Mr. Ibu, remains bedridden after undergoing a leg amputation about a month ago.

According multiple reports, his condition has deteriorated to the extent that he now struggles to speak and has recently undergone another surgery, removing a part of the same leg previously amputated.

The worries Nollywood fans don’t end here, as fear escalates over the declining health of another respected actor, Amaechi Muonagor.

Muonagor has been hospitalized at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra State, for over two months.

Dr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), expressed resignation to the fate of the ailing actors during a telephone conversation with a reporter.

“We are resigning to fate concerning the two actors,” he disclosed. “Mr. Ibu hardly talks again, and he has undergone another leg amputation.”

Rollas, after visiting Muonagor at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, described the actor’s condition as distressing, noting that Muonagor is now a mere shadow of his former self. He called for support from fans and well-wishers to aid the ailing actor during this challenging period.

To assist Muonagor, Rollas revealed he had sanctioned the disbursement of N250,000 from the AGN Trust Fund.

However, he emphasized that this might not be sufficient considering Muonagor’s medical records with the Guild HMO and Insurance policy.

In light of these distressing updates, Rollas urged young actors to enroll in the AGN HMO and Insurance programs.

Previously, Amaechi Muonagor’s cousin, Tony, shared a health update on Facebook, disclosing the actor’s battle with kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke during his hospital stay.

Tony emphasized the ongoing struggle Muonagor faced, including weekly dialysis and treatments at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi.
