If the Chief of Staff to Governor Bassey Edet Otu can reportedly and allegedly afford an apartment worth ₦2.3 billion an amount that could clear months of unpaid salaries, pensions, and gratuities owed to struggling local government workers then one is left to wonder what game this administration is truly playing with the resources of Cross River State.
While workers endure hardship, pensioners suffer in silence, and families are pushed to the brink, such reports only deepen public anger and disappointment.
This is heartbreaking. Cross River deserves leadership that prioritizes the welfare of its people over displays of unimaginable wealth.
