The Debt Management Office has commenced subscriptions for its August 2026 Federal Government Savings Bond programme, offering retail investors two fixed-income instruments with annual returns of up to 14.963 per cent and a minimum investment threshold of N5,000.
In a notice released on Monday, the debt office unveiled a two-year savings bond maturing on 12 August, 2028, carrying an interest rate of 13.963 per cent per annum, alongside a three-year bond due on 12 August, 2029, with a coupon of 14.963 per cent per annum.
The subscription window opened on 3 August and will run until 7 August, while the settlement date has been fixed for 12 August. Successful subscribers will begin earning interest from the settlement date.

Interest on the savings bonds will be paid every quarter throughout their tenure. Coupon payments are scheduled for 12 November, 12 February, 12 May and 12 August, providing investors with a predictable stream of income until the bonds mature.
