Leaders, stakeholders, members and supporters of the Labour Party (LP) in Ward 3, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, have unanimously endorsed the party’s candidate for Obingwa West State Constituency, Chief Mrs. Victoria Dibumma Onwubiko, alongside other Labour Party candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The endorsement took place during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of Chief Edwin Onyekachi in Umuopara Egbelu, where party faithful reaffirmed their commitment to the Labour Party and its candidates.
The gathering attracted party executives, political support groups, community leaders, women, youths and other stakeholders, reflecting what participants described as the growing unity and strength of the party within the ward.
The Executive Mayor of Obingwa Local Government Area also attended the meeting, with party members saying his presence further demonstrated solidarity and cooperation among Labour Party leaders and stakeholders.
Speaking during the meeting, stakeholders expressed confidence in the candidacy of Chief Mrs. Victoria Dibumma Onwubiko, describing her as a competent, accessible and people-oriented leader capable of providing effective representation for the people of Obingwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.
In a unanimous decision, the Ward 3 Councillor moved a motion endorsing Governor Alex Otti, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Chief Mrs. Victoria Dibumma Onwubiko and other Labour Party candidates for the forthcoming elections. The motion was seconded by the Ward Labour Party Stakeholders Chairman and was adopted by voice vote.
The stakeholders said the endorsement reflects the confidence reposed in Chief Mrs. Onwubiko’s leadership qualities and her commitment to community development, women and youth empowerment, and effective representation.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge by Ward 3 Labour Party stakeholders and supporters to strengthen the party at the grassroots and work collectively towards the success of its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
