Chief Victor Giadom, the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South, has made a sensational plea to Chief Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), urging him to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the ruling APC.
The Punch reports that during a New Year luncheon organized by the FCT Minister at his country home, Rumueprikom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, Giadom officially welcomed 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who defected from the PDP to the APC.
Expressing his desire to see Wike join their ranks, Giadom disclosed ongoing consultations and prayers aimed at convincing the influential FCT Minister to change allegiance.
“We have consulted a lot of prayer warriors so that you will change your mind and leave the PDP and join our party. That prayer I know will work,” asserted the APC chieftain.
Giadom extended gratitude to Wike for supporting the APC presidential candidate in the 2023 election, emphasizing the party’s commitment to collaboration.
Acknowledging the APC’s newfound control of the Rivers State House of Assembly, he thanked Wike for his contributions.
Speaking directly to Wike, Giadom stated, “My party is grateful, we are enriched and we are in firm control of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank my brother and my friend, His Excellency, Nyesom Wike for the monumental support he gave to our presidential candidate in the 2023 election. Hon. Minister, we thank you for your support and we value your support.”
The call for Wike’s defection adds a sensational twist to the political landscape in Rivers state, with prayers invoked to influence the FCT Minister’s decision.
