Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has declared that the North will vote for President Bola Tinubu 100 percent in the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf made this declaration on Saturday during the unveiling of Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) national headquarters in Abuja.
He referenced a historical mutual agreement established in 1999 between the North and the South, which according to him, dictates that North should serve two consecutive terms as well as the South.
According to him, the agreement was previously honoured during the two terms of late President Muhammadu Buhari.

In 1999, there was a mutual agreement between the North and the South, that the North will be allowed to go for two consecutive terms in office.
“Based on that, in the last dispensation, President Buhari of blessed memory held sway for two consecutive terms, meaning for eight years.
“We don’t have any cause to now violate that promise, even though not constitutionally, but I can say for constitution of common sense. Common sense dictates that we have to respect this mutual agreement.
I therefore, on behalf of all the Northern states, on behalf of all democrats, on behalf of all patriotic Northern states, we want to assure Tinubu of our full support, 100%. He has done exceedingly well,” Governor Yusuf said.
